Begin With Prayer

Rev. Jill Carey

Universal Worship - A Celebration of Spiritual Unity

Revs. Wahhab and Batina Sheets gave us an adaptation of the Universal Worship service transmitted by Hazrat Inayat Khan, who first brought the Sufi Message to the West in 1910.  A simple candle lighting service, the Universal Worship service celebrates the unity of all religions through musical attunements and readings from the sacred texts of multiple religions, It was followed by a brief message highlighting the continual flow of the Divine Message to us to day.

The Second Half of Life

Rev. Jill Carey talks about how we spend the first half of life finding and identifying who we are, what our place is in the world.  Eventually, some of our most precious ideas and the thoughts about who we are begin to break down.  We face struggles and suffering, and we have to learn healthy self-criticism.

Coming or Going?

Rev, Judy Beach
Our guest speaker was Rev. Judy Beach.  Her Palm Sunday talk was about how we usually is typically celebrate it as the beginning of "the week that changed the world."  What relevance does this ancient story have for us?  Why would Jesus, our Master Teacher, choose an untamed donkey to enter Jerusalem on the most important week of his life?  How does this ancient prophetic act support us in our spiritual growth?
