"The Eye Of The Storm"

Rev. Stephanie Seigh, from Unity Village, MO was our speaker Sunday morning and gave a talk about the depths of our strength to cope with storms in our life.  Re. Seigh is  Director of Transition Consulting & Peacemaking Services at the Association of Unity Churches International.

This from the Associations website:
The primary objective of a congregational peacemaking process is to assist the leadership and community in creating a spiritual context within which all parties can demonstrate Unity principles and take authentic action towards whatever is highest and best for the congregation at large.

Rev. Seigh also presentied an afternoon workshop--"The I of the Storm."  This provides the peace worker with insight into the community dynamics of the ministry as well as giving the community an opportunity to interact with the peace worker.

Matthew Dowd--Coming Home: A Journey through Life

mberley resident and an atteA Wimberley resident and an attendee of our church whenever his schedule allows, Matthew Dowd is an analyst for ABC News and is co-author of the New York Times bestseller Applebee's America: How Successful Political, Business and Religious Leaders Connect with the New American Community. He is a founding partner of ViaNovo, an international communications and brand positioning firm based in Austin, and has been a campaign strategist in political races throughout the country. In 30 years, Matthew has worked for Democrats and Republicans, and was the Chief Strategist on two winning reelection efforts for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006 and for President George W. Bush in 2004. His innovative approach and leadership on the 2004 campaign led the bi-partisan American Association of Political Consultants to name him Pollster of the Year.

For Matthew “coming home” is not a return to a physical place; it is coming home to the Truth of yourself. In this talk Matthew shares some of the steps of his spiritual journey, one that was played out on the very public stage of presidential politics. He is introduced by Cherie Conway.

Meditation

Rev. Linda Pendergrass' talk, "How's Fear Working for You"? was not recorded due to an equipment problem. However, the meditation is presented here along with the last four minutes of the talk, which was recorded after the problem was fixed.

Rev. Linda will be our Guest Speaker again on Sunday, December 7, when she will have something very special for us.
